JAKARTA, INDONESIA 10 AUG 23
MG, the B2B hospitality marketplace, proudly participated in the recent Singapore Tourism Board (STB) roadshow events held in Palembang, Balikpapan, and Semarang. These roadshows aimed to update travel agents and industry partners about the latest developments in Singapore's tourism offerings and explore potential business opportunities.
Boy Valentino, MG Sales Leader: "We are thrilled to be part of the STB roadshow events in Palembang, Balikpapan, and Semarang. MG is committed to reconnecting with travel agents in these regions, fostering new partnerships, and presenting the exciting opportunities that await them in Singapore's hospitality sector."
STB Roadshow - Semarang, 24 July 2023
In Semarang, the STB roadshow centered on updating attendees about Singapore's tourism offerings, cruise training, and available business opportunities. The event saw active participation from sellers representing various Singapore partners, including ticketed attractions, local DMCs, hotels, cruise lines, and B2B hotel suppliers. Buyers from the Central Java area, including Yogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang, expressed keen interest and positive feedback. Many agents acknowledged their previous knowledge of MG but lost contact during system migration. For existing MG clients in Central Java, the roadshow served as an opportunity to reconnect and inform them about MG's competitive rates for Singapore hotels.
STB Roadshow - Palembang, 27 July 2023
During the Palembang roadshow, MG focused on refreshing travel agent contacts in the area, as some had been lost during the pandemic. The event provided a great platform to update attendees on the Palembang market and demand. Notably, there is still no direct flight from Palembang to Singapore or other overseas destinations, and limited flight options exist for domestic travel. Feedback from agencies and associations indicated that some travel agents are shifting their businesses to Umrah/Hajj arrangements, while others run their operations from home due to the absence of physical offices.
STB Roadshow - Balikpapan, 1 August 2023
The Balikpapan roadshow received encouraging feedback from attendees who were familiar with MG's previous identity as MG Holiday. While some had not used MG's services for a while, they were thrilled to discover the improved system and competitive prices offered. The event attracted several new agents, while existing agents were delighted to be reintroduced to MG as a provider of excellent rates not only for domestic hotels but also for overseas destinations. The proximity of Balikpapan to the new Indonesian capital city, IKN, indicates promising opportunities, particularly for business travel from corporate and government sectors.
Boy Valentino, MG Sales Leader, further commented, "The roadshows were a resounding success, reaffirming MG's commitment to being a preferred hospitality marketplace in the region. We are excited about the potential partnerships and business opportunities that these events have initiated and look forward to providing unmatched hospitality solutions to our valued partners."
